Looking After Animals In Kent

Our Clinic

Are you entitled to cheaper veterinary treatment?

Rspca Medway West branch holds a clinic twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday mornings to help people on benefit get reduced rates for there veterinary treatment. All clients need to register before the animal is seen and then an appointment can be made to see the vet.

On a Tuesday and Thursday morning when we have a vet in attendance. This is when the vet performs minor operations i.e. neutering and then holds consultations for clients (this is by appointment only).

Although we do charge for treatment, this is usually works out approximately half the price of a private vets. We have a standard £11.00 consultation fee that drops to £6.50 if the animal needs a follow up appointment. Medications and treatments are at a reduce rate, with a slight discount on flea and worming treatments.

Neutering

All cats, male rabbits and male ferret neutering & ferret vasectomies are done at our clinic. These appointments need to be made by coming to the clinic as a £15 non returnable deposit needs to be paid and the rest of the amount on the day of neutering. This is because many people haven’t shown up for the operations and we have still had to pay the vet for his time.

All animals coming into the clinic for neutering need to be at the clinic for 9am. They must not eat after 6pm the night before and water taken up by midnight. They must not be allowed out the night before the operation.

Dogs, Guinea pigs, female rabbits and female ferrets are neutered at Manor Road Veterinary Centre in Chatham. To take your animal there you need to phone the clinic for a log number, no deposit needs to be paid, but the full amount for the neutering needs to be paid on the day.
