Could You Give One of Our Guinea Pigs a Home???
If you could please contact our centre on 01634 681187 for more information and to arrange a viewing

When adopting a guinea pig from us we do not set any minimum donation fee. However a generous donation would be appreciated for the following reasons:-
Full Health Checks and Medical Treatment if Needed
Food & Bedding Costs
Guinea Pigs Need a Daily Supply of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables
Our main costs with guinea pigs are usually from medical treatment for mites. Due to some of the animal being neglected, many guinea pigs come to us from the mild cases of a few mites to severe mites with skin problems. This can take up to 3+ weeks of veterinary treatment.

We do not have a set fee for our Guinea Pigs
We only ask for a Donation
Please Give Generously
Single boars are the hardest to home due to many websites saying it's cruel to keep one guinea pig on its own so many people would rather have guinea pigs in groups. Although in an ideal world all guinea pigs would live happily with others there are some exceptionsto the rule and although males will usually pair with a sibling sometimes when hormone levels peak it can cause dominant males to fight and this results in the dominate male being left on their own. These boars usually prefer human company rather than the company of other guinea pigs. Single guinea pigs usually make great indoor pets as they like to have company and usually become a lot more social with people.

Archie
Archie was with his brother Elmo but the started to fight, although we tried to match Archie up with another guinea pig he wouldn't settle and kept squabbling. Unforunately a he is so young we are unable to neuter him so can not match him with a female, so he will need to stay on his own at the moment. Archie s a nervous guinea pig and will need lots of love and handling to calm him down. He would really benefit from an indoor home where h would be arond people. Archie is mainly black with a tan right hind leg and the odd tan patch. He was born on 20/01/09 and will be a semi long haired guinea pig.

Elmo
Elmo was with his brother Archie but the started to fight, although we tried to match Elmo up with another guinea pig he wouldn't settle and was picked on a lot and became very subdued and scared of the other guinea pig. Unforunately a he is so young we are unable to neuter him so can not match him with a female, so he will need to stay on his own at the moment. All the moving around and trying to match him up with other guinea pigs has made him very skittis and nervous and is now looking for an understanding home where he can get lots of love, attention and plenty of handling. We would like him to go to an indoor home as he needs regular contact to settle him down. Elmo is a short haired guinea pig who is virtually black apart from a very faint tan hip stripe. He was born 20/01/09.

All new owners enter into an animal adoption agreement with us in which we clearly set out how we expect our animals to be looked after with the final reassurance that if, for whatever reason, it does not work out and the animal can no longer be cared for we expect the animal to be returned to us at Rspca Medway West.
