Hello Penny,
The boys are settling in very quickly in deed, both have very healthy appetitesl & behaving like typical cats, play fighting over cat nip mice, staring at the builtin fish tank or running around like loonies.
As promised here are the new names
Chip the ginger one is now called Crab.
And the little grey one which was Dale is now called Walnut.
Please let me reassure you, that apart from giving them weird names, we are relativly normal.
I thought you might appreciate a few pictures of the boys in there new home.
Kindest regards
From two very happy cat owners

Hi
I adopted Rufus from you and i thought you might like an update on his progress.
He has settled in well and after a few introductions him and grace got on really well, in fact they hated being apart, so last weekend we let them stay together and they have been inseperable ever since. they are like a double act, where one goes the other follows! Rufus is even becoming braver by the day - i think grace is showing him he has nothing to fear! I have attched a few photos for you of them out and about in the lovely weather we have just had!
Thanks for all your help with matching them, i am in love with Rufus and i know that Grace is head over heels about her new friend.
Kindest regards
Clare, Rufus and Grace

Dear Amanda and RSPCA Medway
I have attached a couple of photos of Clint (now renamed Max) and Buster (renamed Toby) who we adopted from you on the 9th and 23rd of June.
They have both settled in really well. Max was a bit nervous and jumpy at first, but he has calmed down now and likes coming out for a cuddle - it seems he likes to sit on my shoulder and hide in my hair! He is a very unfussy guinea pig and seems to eat anything, including cherry tomatoes and peppers which none of our other pigs will eat. Toby was a calm piggy right from the start, and even though he is still a bit of a "newbie" he has already been joining in the squeak for veggies with one of our older guinea pigs! He loves to have his chin tickled and is a very affectionate boy who likes licking people.
The boys are living in a large C&C cage with a divider down the middle, so they can see and smell each other. We are very happy we adopted them and maybe we will see you soon for more piggies in the future! Max and Toby send their cuddles, keep up the good work, if it wasn't for you these two lovely boys wouldn't have found their new home.
Love Emily and Stewart

Hi Penny,
Just a quick note to let you know how Duffy is getting on and a few photos.
He’s settled in really well since we adopted him back in February. He’s still a little shy and will usually hide from visitors behind the sofa, although within a few minutes he’s usually venturing out to see if he has found a new lap to sit in. He adores fuss and is such a soppy cat – he follows me and my partner around the house like a little shadow, waiting for one of us to sit down so he can spring up in to our lap for a cuddle.
He is happy living as a house cat and is happiest sleeping in the sun or on our pillows – I often wake up in the morning to find him sleeping nose to nose with me! He’s developed a really sweet habit of laying down next to me at night, stretched out on the bed with his head on the pillow, and copies me stroking him by lifting up his front paw and trying to stroke my head! He really is wonderful and we can’t imagine him not being around :)
Best wishes,
Caz, Paul and Duffy

Hi
Just wanted to send you the first photo I've managed to take of the rabbits where they don't have evil red eyes!
I have had three rabbits from yourselves - I adopted Maisie (she was called Domino) last September as a companion to Fergal (aka Houdini).
Sadly, he succumbed to e.Cuniculi earlier this year, leaving Maisie moping and clingy.
I decided to get her a new chap, and returned to your branch. After a couple of false starts, we settled on Figaro - now called Bertie. I'd clearly been spoiled when introducing Maisie to Fergal, as that went without a hitch, but these two had several rows, and at one point the three of us were shut in the kitchen, sat on the floor, nervously checking each other out.
Now, they are totally inseparable. Maisie still comes over for a cuddle, but is more than happy playing with Bertie. They have great fun racing around the flat, and Saturday mornings wake me up by thundering into my bedroom and staring at me, demanding their breakfast. For mostly quiet animals, they are very good at getting their point across.
So thank you for everything, and for matching me up with my lovely pets.

Hi there,
I just thought you might like to know how cuddles (torti & white kitten) is getting on here, we picked her up just over 2 years ago from Strood.
Attached are some pics, see how she now owns the house!!
We had a baby in December, and now she's over her jealousy (she misses the
attention) she absolutely adores our son.
Thanks Nicola & Garry

Hi Penny
Sorry its been so long before we contacted you to let you know how the little princess is getting on. But we have all been so engrossed with her, time has flown by since 26 January. she is fully vaccinated now and enjoying the outdoors much to my 2 daughters disgusted. She is a real daredevil, which is a little scary at times. We are well and truly in love with her. She is more than we could have wished for. She enjoys all our company in the evenings and likes playing with her favourite toy grey mouse, she is very active and amusing to watch. Sometimes, she picks her food up with her paws, which makes the girls laugh.
Thankyou so much for letting us adopt her, love the work you do.
Best wishes and huge thanks
Claire, Andy, Jess, and Bethany also Sky.
Sorry it's taken us so long to contact you, one of those things I keep meaning to do, you know how it is.
So anyway just to let you know that Belle has settled in fine. She had a bit of a cold which developed into an eye infection but she's had drops and is fine again now. I have attached a few pictures of her for you, as you can see from these she's grown a bit!!
She's such a gorgeous little thing - a complete diva but gorgeous. She decided that she wouldn't drink her water from her bowl only our glasses so now she has her own glass and she's decided that she only likes whiskers meat and treats!! A girl after my own heart, she'll only have the best :-)
Her neck is healing well now. Just as we think it's almost there though she scratches it again. But we've brought her a soft collar and this seems to stop her from scratching so it's definitely gotten smaller and doesn't seem to irritate her so much.
Kind Regards

Peaches and Apricot came to live with us on the 17th March. We have since renamed them Millie (Black and white one) and Maisie (Aqouti & Tan). On the same day we came to collect them from you we also got another baby guinea pig from my Mum’s friend she is called Fizz. We got them all home and introduced them altogether. As they were all the same age and still young they got on really well. We then put them into their hutch and they have all lived happily together ever since. At first they were in quite a small normal sized hutch but as the 3 of them had toys and food and drink on the bars, this cage got a little to small for them. So we put them in a lovely big cage. They are really well looked after and have fun with all the toys we have brought them. When we first got them they were really difficult to catch but now (as they are given lots of cuddles) they are really good. As the weather has got better I thought that it would be nice to introduce them to my boy guinea pig Barney but luckily we have a run with 2 sides but they can still see each other through the mesh. Maisie is a little flirt and adores Barney whenever she goes out, they like each other a lot as they kiss each other through the mesh. As Barney is on his own all the girls have been great company for him out in the run. We are so lucky to have Millie and Maisie and Fizz as they are so spoilt.
Loads of Love Leah Bell.

hi penny,
just wanted to let you know how paws is doing. he has settled in really well and starting to explore the garden now, really loves chasing bees and butterflies.
he seems really happy loving all the fuss and love and we really enjoy his company. he is contending with my boyfriend at the moment over who sleeps next to me (paws always wins! lol)
i have attached some pictures of him for you to see.
take care
love clare and paws x

At first I was shocked when I got here because there was a huge grey and white beastie hopping around and sniffing at my hutch. I was scared!
After a few days I got used to it, but then my new mum picked me up, gave me a cuddle, and put me in a big field (under a run) with the beastie!
What have I done to deserve this I thought.
Then later mum lifted one corner of the run so I could get out (as if I want to go out there with that big thing!).
I hid for a while but then I got really brave and came out for 2 whole seconds before running back to the run.
Later on, when I thought no-one was looking (but they were) I snuck out again and got even braver. I went up to the big grey thing (which mum calls Thumper) who took no notice of me and carried on munching grass, so I casually joined her. Glad to say we now spend some time together every day before I get taken back to my hutch for my evening snack and sleep.
Thumper is not so bad after all. we have plenty of room so I can always hide if I want to, and mum is always there to watch over us.
This place is not so bad after all!
Best wishes to everyone still there,
Corrie xxx
Dear Penny,
My slaves gave me a really soft bed lined with a pale grey cashmere jumber which suits my fur beautifully. I love bird watching from my bed and as its in the kitchen I can lie in bed and watch the slaves very comfortably, in the afternoon do a spot of sunbathing when the sun comes around. They feed me very well Sunday is my best day as they have a roast and always give me a little chicken or beef- delicious! I sleep on the female slaves bed at night and on their daughters bed when she stays at the weekend. I am very spoilt and have loads and loads of ping pong balls and mice to play with and doormats to scratch, they dont like me scratching the carpet but I like winding them up sometimes!.jpg)
We rehomed Dylan (the little one with the stroke/head tilt) 3 weeks ago, and just wanted to give you a quick update on his progress.
N.B. For anybody reading this, who thinks of getting a new friend for a lonely male piggie, - we DID NOT just plonk them in together on the first day - which would probably have been a recipe for disaster. The boys were introduced very slowly and carefully over a period of about three weeks. For anybody else interested in pairing up boars (male guinea pigs), I would strongly recommend reading the 'Barmy 4 Boars' and 'Guinea Pig Forum' websites first.

Dear Penny,
Just thought I'd send you some pictures of Leoni settling into her new home. She has really come out of herself, was a bit shy at first but after I fed her she has been running around exploring the house ever since! She is also very affectionate and is already very loved by all the family.
Thanks again for all your help and I can only hope that the other kitty's manage to find as loving a home as Leoni has. Well done for your amazing work saving these lovely animals.
Thanks,
Eloise
I adopted four little boy piggies from you in March last year; I thought you would like to know how they are getting on. Sadly, I lost one of them four months ago, but the others are doing fine. Ther are also some pictures for you to see.
Elliott (was called Nosey)
Elliott is very happy, and the only thing he like better than a cuddle is another cuddle! He has a very healthy appetite; my Vet calls him "Mr Chubby", so I had to boost his hay and salad, but cut down a little on the dry mix (he had reached 3lb 7oz, but is now a very handsome 3lb and a bit). His handsome black markings on his head sometimes make him look as if he is being the lone ranger, with a little mask!

Miles (was called Bullet)
I was a bit puzzled why Miles had been called Bullet, until I saw him coming out of his bedroom for a meal - Miles per hour! He is my Golden Miles, with his handsome crest, and is no longer nervous as he was at first, but comes to the door of his cabin when he is ready for a meal.
He is also interested in cuddling, and sings a lovely soft and gentle piggy song during a cuddle. Miles is now my plumpest piggy.

William (was called Billy)
William (was Billy...but our neighbours' dog is Billy, and I didn't want the wrong one coming when he was called!) William is a handsome tortoiseshell, who has forgiven his brothers Bobby and Ben, who had bitten his ear...which is why you had to separate them before they went to their new homes. We had a bit of a scare with William over Christmas - I had to ring my Vet on Christmas Day! My Vet admitted William on Boxing Day for bladder stone surgery, but he has come through that and is doing well, although I am still keeping an eye on him.
William likes jumping on the roof of his cocoon; all the better to see when a meal is one the way! He is also around the 3lb mark.

Vernon (was Rumpy)
Sadly, I lost Vernon at the beginning of September. He was doing so well, but in the morning of 2 September I went in to see the piggies and he was having trouble breathing, although he had been fine the night before. I rushed him to the Vet, and they saw him immediately, but his heart stopped while they were taking an X-ray; they managed to restart his
heart, only for it to stop again. He and his brother had been rescued
from neglect, and my Vet thinks that probably this early episode meant that he had a weak heart. When I first took him to the Vet for a check-up I said that "chocolate" didn't do his magnificent colouring justice, he was more like polished mahogany. He was such a sweet-natured little piggy; I remember once a moth flew past his cabin, and he lifted his little hand to point to the moth, to show me.

Hi Penny,
Just wanted to let you know that Shadow has settled into his new home very well. He has a great character and loves all the cuddles and cosy nights! He is great with the 3 boys who also get lots of cuddles and he loves playing with them too.
I have attached some pictures for you to see him settled into his new home. As you can see he is eating very well and is very relaxed!
Once again thank you so much he has settled in really well and we love him to bits.

Hi Penny,
Just thought you would like to know how our two cats are getting on since they were rehomed with us.
Formerly Molly and Pippin, now known as Kedi and Kasif, they have settled in very well. Kedi is very content, and likes lots of cuddles, and purrs very loudly, has found little hiding places in the house where she disappears off to when she wants a rest from Kasi, who is on the go all day.
Kasif (which means "explorer") is living up to her name! She has figured out how to switch the bathroom light on and off and loves pouncing on Kedi.
There are a few pictures attached. There isn't a single day that they don't make us laugh, though I must admit I think Kasif is a bit nutty!
Thank you for these two little bundles of fun.
Regards and best wishes,
Paul and Sue.

Hi pennyHello Penny,
I am writing to say thank you for your patience with me and allowing us to re-home Dylan.
His wound is drying up nicely and healing well and he is doing just fine
From the pictures attached you can see he has made himself right at home and has taken away the sadness as he is very loving.

Hello to All
We adopted Jake & Honey in February 2006 and thought it was time that we sent you some photos and an update of how they are getting on.
They made themselves at home straight away and always enjoy a cuddle, although Jake seems to suffer from 'little-man syndrome' and gets in a bit of a huff sometimes.
As you can see from the photo's they have two bodygaurds, Benny (retriever) and Asa (leonberger). They take great care of the bunsters while they are out in the garden exploring.
Jake is very inquisitive and will find himself any amount of trouble, or holes in hedges that he possibly can while Honey is quite content to lay in a flower bed and eat anything within easy reach.
So glad Jake & Honey were kept together as they are inseperable and will follow each other around endlessly.

Hi this is just an update on Len, he had been with you for about 4 months when i saw him on the website, i was slightly worried what could be wrong with him for someone to give him up, but he is the most loving little hamster you could meet. He loves his ball to have a good run most evenings, and he is very interested in my other hamster Frankie and my neighbours hamster Bruce both who also get to run around my flat in their balls.
At first Len was a bit worried that it was a short term thing and didnt s
eem to want to settle too much, but now he's off making nests and hoarding food. Monkey nuts are a big fav, as is sweetcorn on the cob
I have a few pictures for you, sadly wont still that still when not in his cage to get a good picture, so they are taken when in his cage
Hi,
Corkie was the rabbit that came home with us.
We have been at our new home for nearly 3 months and we're really glad that we were adopted by such friendly people. They have named us Storm (after the X-men(?) character) and Elektra. We have a nice comfy cage with lots of toys in (we do expect a new one every time our owners go to the pet shop!) which get changed regularly so we don't get bored. Our favourite toy is not the fleecy hammock or chube, but an empty tissue box!
We love climbing - anything will do! We are now allowed to free range (a bit scary at times but there are lots of places to hide). We particularly like to go under the bookcase or sofa, or inside the arm chair. Needless to say, by the time we return to our cage, the room looks extremely lived in! We're quite fussy eaters and will pick out all the best bits of the rat muesli and leave the rest. We have just discovered cous-cous and peas (yummy) and peach melba yoghurt (dreamy!) We also love cucumber, tomatoes, grapes, apples, banana chips and peanuts but we have not yet succeeded in training our owners to take the skin off before they put it in the cage. Storm will do almost anything for a yoggie drop treat but I'm much more reserved and have better manners.
Hope you like our photos - aren't we cute!
Love from Storm and Elektra
It is almost eighteen months on, since Alfie (Alfred when naughty) came to live at our house. Pancake, my other cat is tolerating his antics' well.
Alfie's favourite past time is, sticking a claw into the bottom of my foot when I'm sleeping. His dislikes are leaving the house to visit the VETS. His talent is being the master of hide n seek, and worst moment was to sneak out late at night and remain there until morning - luckily it wasn't cold :) He was very nervous about visitors at first but has now become, so what of a floozy, likes to rol over for a belly rub. A lot of his manorism are so dog like it's scary. This may have stemmed from lodging briefly at Battersy Dogs Home.
To join Pancake's madcat portrait I had the artist paint one for Alfie, based on his past times. He is always in the wastepaper basket and being very amusing.

The painting is done by Simon Heath.

Just to let you know that both the girls have settled in very well and have already had their first venture outside.
Bonny had a few days of very bad snuffles, so she took a little longer to familiarize herself with her new home. But both are well, gorgeous and as the pictures show very cute!

Sage & Onion (now Lois & Dita) are really beginning to live up to their names! Lois (named after
After they were let out of their cat baskets they hid behind the sofas for approximately 10 minutes before bounding about & making themselves really at home with all their toys.
They are so bold and loving and are such a joy to have around that we can’t imagine life without them – thank you so much for allowing us to rehome them.
Keep up the good work – you really are a star!

Just wanted to let you know how Lilly, Mitzi & Rocky settled in.
We adopted Lilly and Mitzi in August 2004 – They seemed to settle in well and after a couple of months we realised we had two very different cats even though they are sisters.
Mitzi is into everything whilst Lilly it seems is worn out just watching her!
We decided to adopt Rocky in November to complete our cat family – it was quite nerve racking at first introducing a new addition, however after a panicked call to Penny she reassured me to persevere & she was right, it worked out perfectly. Mitzi and Rocky are “now” perfect playmates and Lilly insists on mothering him.

Lilly
As you can see, we share the TV with Lilly, who loves sitting in front of the TV watching her cat DVD’s, “we think she is a little scared of the big lobsters though as she looks or walks away when they appear. She is a very gentle natured cat a little shy but we always get a loud purr whenever we pick her up, a real cuddle monster.

Last but certainly not least, a real little character “clown”– he turns every day into an adventure. The pictures say it all! Always where he shouldn’t be, very good at getting in & raiding the washing bin or chewing visitors shoes! Always making funny faces.

Hi Penny,
It's been just over a month since we took Ralph home. He's settled in well and knows where home is - he sleeps through the day and seems to go off adventuring at night, coming back covered in plant debris from the fields...
He can be very friendly and affectionate - although he's actually too big to sit on my lap! - but is definitely his own 'person'. He's sulking with his back to me at the moment, as punishment for waking him up with the hoover.
The photo shows him on his second day home, after deciding the sofa was more comfortable than the cupboard he'd initially been hiding in.
With thanks and best wishes,
Emma Tombs.

hi all
well it's been seven months since we met thomas and thought an update was well overdue...
we renamed him cookie and he lived in the house for a couple of months so that he could get used to being around people. he settled in much quicker than we expected him too and went from a rabbit that flinched when touched to being quite happy being stroked.
once his confidence had grown he moved out to the bunny shed, bonded with daisy and came on leaps and bounds again. he doesn't mind being picked up and i think he secretly loves being stroked as he often gives a little tooth grind and relaxes when smoothed. a few weeks ago he had bloat in the morning and had to have lots of tummy rubs, he was good as gold and by evening was feeling much better - the trust he has is wonderful to see and he really seems to respond to being talked to.
he loves being out in the garden, he's a really inquisitive bunny and loves running through the pipes they have to play with and often jumps up in the air which always makes us smile.
i'm so grateful that you allowed us to rehome him, he really is a special rabbit and we love him to bits. he seems really happy although we get the occasional stamp from him when he's having a stubborn five minutes!
thanks once again and i hope you like the photos

As T&H are a big one years old today, i thought you might like a couple of pics i took earlier. I do hope Toby is having a special birthday too :-)
They are both absolutely beautiful and we love them to bits - they run the house (along with Sophie)!!!
Hope to see you on the Hovel soon,

Hi,
Just thought I would drop you a note to let you know that Buck ( aka 'Buckster') has grown in to the most gorgeous, cheeky and inquisitive little rabbit I have ever had the pleasure to own. He has recently been neutered, and is now waiting to be bonded with another Lion head rabbit by the Briony ( aka 'Twiggy') also a rescue rabbit. Both my partner and I have had a few tops that have been chewed on by Mr Buck, but we love him none the less. he is so unbelievable playful and loves to play on the grass, picking up his ball and tossing it in the air ( I kid you not, David Beckham of the rabbit world) ha ha.
He sends his love, and wishes everyone at the centre the best.
Love
Buck and owners ( Kerry & Rob)
We thought we'd send you a quick email to say hi and let you know how we're getting on (we're very priviledged cats - we have our own email address!)We've settled in very nicely into our new home and have made it very clear that we are in charge. We've quickly perfected the essential cat art of sleeping most of the day either in the sunshine or in front of the radiator, but we make up for it by madly chasing each other around the house now and again. We're also now expert mountaineers having put in hours of practice climbing the curtains. We also enjoy chasing bits of paper, especially orange coloured paper, playing in boxes and eating lots of fish!
We've included some pictures of us being cute!

Hello

“Just wanted to give you an update on ‘Taz’ (the ex-stray,) that we adopted from Penny, at the RSPCA Medway West Branch, just under 2 weeks ago. Taz settled in immediately and has certainly made himself at home. He gets so much attention from everyone he meets and is always eager to return the gesture.
However, Taz felt that he didn’t need anymore settling time and decided to explore the local area by escaping through an upstairs window. After many hours in the bitter cold trying to find him, I had to call off the search much to everyone’s anguish. The following evening the search continued but this time I was armed with a head torch, a bag of cat biscuits and his favourite toy ‘mouse on a stick’. After several hours of expert tracking skills, we were just about to give up again, when he came running from the undergrowth purring and singing as if nothing had happened. We were so relieved to see him again, but what a cheek!
Since his little adventure, he gets even more spoilt and always gets his extra treats of tuna & chicken. He always manages to get his on way and will quite happily push my computer keyboard out the way to get some more attention.
Anyway, thanks for your help in our adoption of Taz. We couldn't have wished for a happier animal. Hope you enjoy the photos?”
To All at the Centre
After seeing Milo on the Rehoming Website we knew we had to visit the centre. It was 130 mile round trip but well worth it!
We have had Milo with us for almost a month now and it feels like he has been here much longer. He has settled in very well and loves his cuddles and full run of the garden. He is such a soppy bunny! Him and his new companion, Poppy are now inseparable.
I know we shall be back to visit the centre and who knows what we shall come home with.
Keep up the good work!!!

Just a quick up date on Oliver (Ollie).Hi
Just to let you know progress on Leoni and Toffee so far. I brought them home and let them out in the living room for about an hour or more. It was similar to being in the surgery, they pretty much ignored each other for a long time. Eventually Toffee went to see her and had a sniff and then ran away. She did not try to mount him again. He kept going to her but didnt stay with her. At last i put them in the hutch, and probably made a mistake as i put her in first and when i put him in, he chased her around for a while, then they settled down ok. Both of them lying in the bedroom area.
A problem arose at feeding time, as Toffee is on Excel and i had the food for Leoni so I had to separate them and put her in another hutch to feed her. If they have both eaten in an hour or so I will put them back together, otherwise not sure what to do, may have to leave them separate at night until she is on Excel, which will be a couple of weeks. I will see how it goes tonight and if not they will have to spend their days together.
Will keep you updated over the next few days and hopefully get some photos for you.
I have had some lovely cuddles with Leoni, although it took some time, at first I thought she was purring but quickly realised it was a sound of aggression as she went for me!!! She seems ok now though, cant blame her being stuck in the car for an hour and then in a strange new environment, so we will take it slowly
Thanks for letting us take her, i am sure they will be ok.
Sandra
Update on the above rabbits, I think the photos speak for themselves!!
This is after 48 hours together, they seem to be getting used to each other.
The only problem i have is at feeding time when i have to take Leoni out to give her different food until she builds up to the Excel.
Looks like she is settling in well.
Regards
Sandra
Meow Meow Hello!
Meow Meow Just thought I'd e-mail you to let you know that I've settled in really well with Dave and Claire!
As you can see, they're trying to educate me (my favourites are Michael Palin DVDs) and they even let me have some of their tea (only the little bits left in the bottom of the cup!).
Claire's particularly nice to me; she gives me a saucer of cat milk every morning!
Dave's nice too; he comes down really early in the morning to feed me and tidy up my litter tray, and then he takes me upstairs to wake Claire up! He feeds me again in the evening (I eat all dry food now!) and gives me lots of attention!
They play with me lots - they scrunch up balls of paper and throw them towards me, and I hit them back to them and then try to pounce before they can pick them up!
I've been really lucky to find the people I live with now; I really enjoy it here, and I think they like having me around too!
Meow Meow Loads of love
Jack Black x
Jack's an absolute dream; he's fitted in so well with us - he's learned his routines and boundaries so quickly (although he does like to sneak a drink out of the kitchen tap still, if he thinks no-one's looking!)
Claire misses him terribly when she's been at work all day, and I've taken to him so much better than I expected (I've always been a dog person until now!).
He's become part of our life so quickly, and we can't thank you enough for giving us the chance to give Jack back the enjoyment in his life!
Dave and Claire x
Hello All,
I thought you would like to see how tufty is getting on. I have attached some pictures taken from his hutch. He seems to have settled in well, likes his hutch and eats loads! He still has trouble understanding why he can't come out the front of his hutch and has still not mastered the ramp down to under his hutch - he gets half-way and then goes back!

Hi, just thought we would update you with news of how Bobbin is getting on. She has settled in really well and is a lovely cat, probably the nicest cat we have ever met! She has really come out of her shell, as she was a little shy when she first arrived. She enjoys a cuddle and likes to spread fur all over the house! We are glad that there has been a happy ending to her sad tale.

I just wanted to let you all know how Metro (now named Woody) is doing with us in his new home as a house bunny. We collected him almost 8 weeks ago on my birthday as a companion for our little black dutch baby girl rabbit, Frankie. We had Woody neutered and both rabbits fell in love the moment they met, as you can plainly see from the photo. She is totally in charge of the relationship and he follows her everywhere and grooms on her command !
It has been just over a week since we picked up Keeley and I thought you should have a progress report.
She has settled in fine, and seemed to enjoy all the extra fuss from visitors over Christmas. As you can see from the photos, has made the conservatory HER room, and she enjoys nothing more than looking down the garden and intimidating the birds through the window
She is still learning her way around the house, and likes hiding. Christmas eve was spent dismantling the kitchen as she his under the units and yesterday she disappeared for 14 hours before trotting into the front room for a fuss. Goodness knows where she got to (under the floor boards we think).
She is the only cat I know who does not enjoy roast turkey, pork, gammon or fish! Cheap to feed at any rate. Thank you so much for letting her share our home. She is already one of the family. I can’t imagine life without her.
I’ll keep in touch later to let you know what other mischief she gets up to!
Marie Knight
We adopted 'Flopsy' from you back in July.
I’m just emailing to say she has settled in very well and seem to love her life as a house rabbit. She a quite a character and has us well and truly wrapped around her little paws.
I’ve enclosed some pictures.

Just thought you would like to see a picture of how Bentley (aka Kato). He has settled in really well and is a part of the family. He laid around in front of 14 people on Christmas day like he's done it all his life! Just started going outside but the outside world is still a bit scary. His favourite place is on the landing so he can peep through the banister!
Bentley has already gone through 3 fishing rod toys (his favourites). Thank you for finding us this wonderful cat.

As promised heres the pictures of Treacle our lovely new kitten she is really settling in and is lovely to have as a pet. As you can see she has an older brother (Henry) He has accepted her with only a little hissing to start with !! He's now very protective of her and our only worry is when Henry tries to eat all her food !! We were saddend to discover her history of being dumped in the rubbish in a litter of 3....There would allways be a story in getting a pet from the RSPCA, Its fullfilling in a way to know your money goes to help further animals in need..Pet shop.....Never again..!!

It always amazes me how far people will travel to get the right pet.
A lovely couple saw a picture of Thingammy Jig on the rabbit rehome website and fell in love with her. They really wanted her and wondered if we re-homed outside of our area, which we said we did. They journey to come and rehome her was over 150 miles. She has already settled in well and one of her favourite games is hiding in her straw so her new owners can’t find her.

This what her new owner posted: -
We're all excited today, as we are just back from a 150 mile trip to pick up our new bun, Thingammy Jig!!!
She is playing happily in the living room at the moment, while we finish preparing the hutch for her!!
She is just as gorgeous as you can tell by the photos, and will most certainly be a very loved bun... She has already met Chris' parents, as we stopped off there on the way home, and Chris' mum has fallen in love with her!!!
Anyhoo, i am off to play with our new bundle of fluff!!

Hi Penny
I hope that this email finds you well.
I am doing very well! My new owners got me some new worming treatment that they had to put onto the skin at the scruff of my neck, which I didn't like but cleared me up within one day! It really was the miracle treatment they promised. I have now received the worming tablet and will keep this just in case I need it.
Bonnie and Andre went away for a long weekend to Norway to plan their wedding - and although their friend Dave who I know stayed with me I really missed them and was rather forlorn for 5 days! I could not contain my excitement when they came back and showed them how much I had missed them by doing great big jumps and leaps I then followed them around the house like a lost lamb for the next 48 hours and insisted on sleeping on the bed with them, which I had managed to cover in a coat of hair in their absence.
I am settling in more and more every day and investigate new corners weekly!!
My paws are all cleared up and are as pink as new born pads! You can tell that they are well again as I have no fear in jumping on and off of furniture anymore!
I am very interested in yellow shoe laces and like to chase one around the house at least 4 times a day for about 5 minutes each - I make bonnie do this when she gets in from work every night, although I make sure I get a hug first! I make lots of growling noises and am sure its dead once I have chewed it and carried it across the room!
I am still not sure what type of food I prefer but for my dry I really like IAMS - they are yum!
Its great being with someone all day and I am really helping Andre feel more relaxed and helping him.
Here is a picture of me and andre at the computer and there is another of me having a drink from the tap - this is my favourite way of drinking!
Till the next installment

Hi Penny
Dear Penny,
Penny,

Hi,
Thought you would like to know that Tinker is well on her way to settling in her new home. It's been almost a month since I picked her up and every day she is making small steps to becoming a very lovable cat. Her days are spent asleep on a window seel or if she's feeling shy then under the bed, when she's not sleeping then she follows me around expolring as she goes, she loves playtime and is quite the little hunter, once or twice making me jump as she pounces around the corner. She's not too fond of visitors but has grown attached to my mum when she somes to visit, she hates the hoover but when I'm done I treat her to some tuna and all is forgiven.
Well I just wanted to let you know how we were getting on, attached are some pictures of her at home.

Thank you for my little kitty, will keep you posted.

Ollie was a beautiful Chinchilla cat that came into us and was adopted by a very special lady, who has given him a very special loving home. He was very matted when he came to us and was unable to groom himself properly, so started to smell. This didn’t put Mary off when coming to view him as he has these hypnotic blue eyes that you couldn’t help but fall in love with. These eyes now let him get away with all sorts of mischief. Since he was de-matted and rehomed Mary has done wonders with him and he looks in tip top condition.
Ollie has a new friend Marcus and they get on great, chasing each other around the house before curling up and going to sleep.

“Ollie is THE most adorable little monkey imaginable. Whenever he is cheeky and I want to "let loose" lololol......he just pulls one of his cutie faces and I melt into the carpet. He is still very frightened about being brushed but at least ,he has now forgiven me and accepts that I have to do this for him to feel well”.
Ollie has even become a star and feature on Mary’s website (please see our links page).

Just thought you would like to see some pic's of Willow and Bracken (aka Suki and Leah). They have completely settled in and made themselves at home! They both are enjoying the sunshine and like eating our newly laid turf! Bracken is finding fly's and bees very exciting and her favourite spot is on our conservatory roof where she can see all that's going on! They both are very happy and are wonderful! Willow has her favourite spot on the lounge bookcase where she goes asleep every evening and is able to hold a conversation with you in cat language! Ross has taught Bracken to do back-flips mid air which keeps her amused every night!
Thanks you once again for these gorgeous girls!
Clare and Ross & Willow and Bracken xx

Just thought I'd let you know that Brambles is settling in brilliantly, she has been with us 2 weeks now and we couldn't imagine life without her.
Her personality is starting to shine through now, and she likes to have a play around
She is very loving and affectionate and loves to have attention. She has a favourite place to sleep on the arm chair and when she decides she joins us on the settee.
She seems very contented and happy in here new home and we are so pleased that you let her come home with us
Many Thanks
Kath & Jamie + Brambles xx

Toffee and Huey have definitely got their paws under the table and have settled in really well! They are completely mad with each other and dive-bomb the other from the stairs :-) They are so much fun!!! Huey really is a love bug and if he is sleepy, he will always try to find a lap to curl up on. Toffee is becoming more at ease with us, gradually allowing herself to sit on a lap (for 5 mins, before she is off again!!) On Sunday I had both of them fast asleep on my lap - was so happy!!! They are such beautiful babies. They still adore each other and play like mad!!! Its sooo much fun playing with them and watching them!!!

Just to let you know how Syd is getting on, I attached a picture of him in the garden! No problems at all, he is getting treated like a king and we can’t imagine not having him around. He's getting used to our daughter now but he's very patient with her. Thanks for letting us have him again and we will keep you informed as to how he's getting on.
Regards
Gavin, Nickie and Ayla Winchester (And Syd!)

Just a quick note to let you know that Jasper (now known as Oliver/Ollie) is fully settled and very happy in his new home, with a large house and garden to explore.
He is vet registered with his allergy still on going, but hopefully under control.
Please find attached picture of him on decking in back garden after leaping around the rooftops.
Keep up your good work.
All the best
Tony Tinklin.
Hello All
I would just like to say to you all, I adopted Barney and Claws on Saturday (boy guinea pigs). Barney settled in straight away no problem, Claws shied away and I think the rabbit sensed it cos he was trying to bully him, Sunday Claws stayed in the hutch all day.
Today when I got home from work Claws is running around with the other guineas not a problem in the world so I think everyone was right that he would benefit have no problem at all with fighting they are getting on like a house on fire.
Thanks to you all.

Just thought I would say how Morse is getting on. He has settled in well, sleeping on every bed so now he thinks he owns the place. Have not let him out properly yet, he had a half hour in the garden today, it is us who are building ourselves up to it. His favorite pose is to lay in the window flat on his back with his crown jewels on show, he is a bit of an exhibitionist. Thank you for letting him come to live with us, he has me a part of our family now.
I would advise anybody who may be thinking of re-homing a cat to do so, because if you go and have a look there is a cat with a personality to match yours just waiting there.
Thank you again, Fiona and John.

This family of Russian hamsters fell on their feet when they got re-homed. This mum and her 5 daughters went to live with in a household full of animal lovers . These little bundles of fur were re-homed to a young girl Jade who has a massive cage with many tubes and tunnels to keep them busy whilst she is at school and then they get lots of love a cuddles when she gets home. We couldn’t of asked for a better home .

Trojan & Tidgy are two lucky bunnies who went to join a very loving family. Julie and her family had already adopted three other rabbits from us, Dandy, Gingerbread & Sunflower and offered these two little fellows a new loving home as well. Julie and her children given them all lots of love and cuddles and they have settled down well and enjoying all the attention.

Ice was a very special cat that came into our cattery. He was found as a stray in the freezing cold and snow. When he came in to us we found he had Cancer to the tips of his ears, which had to be removed. After his operation he found a wonderful forever home.
He has been here nearly five weeks now and as you can see from the couple of attached pictures, he has found a great friend (one of our other cats called Felix) they get on so well, they beg for food together, sleep together, sit watching the bird aviary (cat TV!!) together the only thing they don't do together is go outside together. Felix goes in and out of the dog flap whenever he feels like it but Ice does not like going outside!! I even tried to coax him out by putting the cat litter tray just outside the back door. That didn't bother him, when he wants to go to the loo he just goes straight upstairs and goes in the bathroom sink!! I suppose that I shouldn't mind, at least he has got the right room! (I'll have to keep a litter tray in the bathroom just for him!!)

He has made friends with my other cat (Felix's mum Kyra) but she just ignores him because she is a bit grumpy. He is so laid back, nothing seems to bother him, he loves everybody who comes through the door as long as they have a spare lap for him to sit on!
Thank you all very much for letting us have Ice, he is a very welcome addition to our family.
Best Wishes Nikki Owens.

We have had Jessie 4 weeks now and soooooo pleased we could finally let her out! She is great and can’t imagine life without her, she is 2 yrs old and plays like a kitten constantly!!! She wont let us sleep at night as pouncing on us under the covers is fun, but she has been so busy exploring our fields today, chasing birds and rabbits, hopefully she will be tired out!! She isn’t really a lap cat, but constantly wants attention or to play, so hopefully when she is a bit older she may want to "snuggle". Only having two toes on one paw, doesn’t seem to affect her at all and my husband and I definitely think we made the right choice out of all the cuties waiting to be rescued.
I would definitely rescue another one in the future, but hopefully that will not be for many years to come and recommend it to anyone who isn't sure. Thanks for letting us have the opportunity to rescue her, she really is part of the family and feels like we have had her for years.

Here are some pictures of my new cat Arthur (formerly Frodo). These pictures were taken very recently. When we got Arthur he used to hide behind the piano and wrapped himself in blankets but he soon became friends with our older cat, Alf. Arthur has become a well known cat in our neighborhood and he has established a lot of territory. He loves to chase things and he has a playmate/girlfriend called Jinny who lives next door. (The black and white cat in some of the pictures). Not long ago Alf died and Arthur had no other big cat with him so he became quite sad. He forgot about him though in a few days and enjoyed more food!
Arthur has become a great friend to me as well as a loving cat.
Thank you RSPCA Medway West!

Smudge has really settled in well. He has the run of the place whenever we are around, and his favourite places are under the table and in the corner of the room where we are at the time. He has started following us around and runs to the door when someone comes home. We have made a digging box which he visits regularly, and he has a material cat bed with roof (which has been repaired and bunny-proofed to prevent digging). He has a play-pen for the garden, which we utilised in the kitchen when on holiday to give him a continuous access to play time. He is much more trusting than when he first came home and is more receptive to being picked up to be checked.
This is a letter we got from Smudge aswell:-
Dear friends
I though you might like to see a couple of the pictures my new family have taken of me - not bad I thought; definitely caught my good side. I'm really enjoying myself, but I can't understand why, whenever I try to rearrange the furniture with my teeth, I get sent back to my room!! It's taken me a little while to settle in with all the new smells, and it's quite warm here too. I think they may have taken me to another, warmer climate, although the clear holes in the wall show white flakes falling - can't understand it. It's most frustrating too - I spend all day filling my litter tray, and the female comes in with a shovel and plastic bag and takes it all away!
Still, must go now - I have a carrot and a cauliflower leaf to demolish.
Keep your chins up; I'm sure you will all find good homes soon.
Much love
Smudge
Just thought I'd drop you a note about Darcy. He has settled in really well and at night likes to do nothing better than sit on my lap and be cuddled. My others cats have taken really well to him - he's such a big placid boy but the dog is still unsure - in time they will get used to each other. So things have turned out really well and cant thank you enough for him. I'll keep in touch and let you know how he is doing!

Sid was a large black cat that came to the cattery when the police found him with his deceased owner. He was very withdrawn and we thought we would have trouble finding him a home a new loving home. Soon the perfect home came along.
This is what his new owners wrote: -
We thought you would like to know how Sid is getting on. It's not been a week yet and he has already established himself and acts like he owns the place. On the first day (Monday) he hid himself away in our wardrobe in the spare room as we thought it best for him to be out of Aylas way while he settles. Although he was nervous, he purred away when stroked. On Tues we coaxed him out for cuddles and his confidence grew and on weds he voluntarily left the bedroom and roamed about upstairs and when Ayla went to bed we brought him Downstairs where he happily sits on your lap and likes nothing more than a cuddle. (He is definitely a lap cat. if your sitting down its Sid’s invite to sit on you) although still a little jumpy at sudden noises he is very loving and loves company and your full attention.
Sid says THANK YOU for looking after him and is looking forward to seeing you again.
Thank you for allowing us to adopt him.
Nicola, Gavin and Ayla Winchester

All going really well
.
All 3 have now settled and loving all the attention and fuss they r getting
.
We have been giving them 2 free run playtimes a day and my daughter has become their personal groomer brushing them once or twice a day for about 30mins at a time
.
They r a pleasure to have and I’m so happy that Amanda and all the team at Rspca Medway have entrusted them to me and my mad house
Julie

I thought I would email you and inform you of Alfie's progress. (AKA Charlie)
It was touch and go at first but after a couple of days, I was able to leave all the rooms open and they roamed free.
Pancake, my cat, didn't accept him straight away but I am very pleased with her. She has been very adult about the whole situation.
Alfie knows who wears the trousers in this house.

Earless was a grey Rex that came into the centre. She was called earless as half her right ear was missing after being attacked by another rabbit. Dawn (her new owner) came to the centre to find a match up for her rabbit frosty. Earless and Frosty got on well and Dawn took her home. She was renamed Misty.
This is an E mail we got from Dawn:-
Hi everyone since bringing earless now known as misty home, all is well she is enjoying her new friend frosty and we are all enjoying her, she has settled lovely as though she has bin with us all the time, thank you very much for introducing her to me I would not be with out her please find attached a photo or two will keep in touch.

Rosemary was a 10 year old + cat that came into our cattery with a broken pelvis. Although older than most cats some one fell in love with her.
This is what Rosemary’s new owner wrote about her:-
She has settled in well and loves to run up and down all of the stairs in her new home - there are five flights she has access to. Her favourite spot to sit is on a windowsill in the sun - typical cat.
She has begun to explore her new garden, but gets a bit frightened by the neighbourhood cats when they visit. She does chase them away from coming inside the house though, she is definitely sure that is her territory.
From the start, Rosemary has been happy in her new house and now bosses me around by coming to see if I am up at the right time in the morning when the alarm is about to go. I think that is to make sure she gets her morning food, more than to send me to work on time. She is always there behind the door when I come home in the evening and leads me through my evening routine - she knows it better than I do, I think. She even stretches up to look into the bath to see if I have sunk without trace.
She has also distinguished herself by catching a mouse and bringing it to my bedroom one night to show how clever she is.
Rosemary is a very affectionate cat and loves to sit either on me or near me when I am at home and she has proved to be very good company. I am glad I was able to give her a new home that she likes.
Alexia Lang.

Jack is a Black Otter Lop who had been at the centre for a long time, until he was spotted on the
